The funniest conversations happen in my Twitter DM… hahaha…
First, there was the one guy who kept saying, “hi”, and “hello” to me several times, even after I tried to inquire as to the purpose of his salutations.
Then, there was another person who persistently asked me if I was married, and was probably going to ask me to sponsor him to move to Canada until I blocked him.
Trust me when I say, my DMs enjoy a fair amount of intrigue.
Sometimes however, I receive very refreshing messages from followers of the blog, who take their time to read through my blog posts and my Twitter threads, and respond to the concerns that I raise. Dee Queen was one of such followers, who after reading my frustrated rant on the Car Insurance ‘crisis’ in the GTA, shared the following tips below on how to better manage your car insurance. Because I’m sweet like that, I in turn decided to share it with y’all. Hope you find it valuable. Happy Sunday!!!
Hi, I just read your blog post on car insurance. There are a couple of details you got wrong:
1. Some insurance companies actually honor letters from insurance companies from Africa- to be specific Nigeria.
2. If you try combining insurance like Car and House or Life and Car insurance with the same provider, it reduces the cost of your insurance.
3. Some Insurance companies are willing to offer you a device you install in your car and it monitors your driving for a 100 days or less. Afterwards, depending on your driving style, you can get a discount on your insurance.
4. If you qualify for a full G license, I would suggest you take it and make little or no mistake during the driving test, as this will help bring your insurance premium down.
5. Stating you intend to use winter tires and being precise with the distance you intend to cover daily also plays a factor.
6. Negotiate with the insurance companies. Ask and keep asking for a lower price, especially with the smaller insurance companies.
Oh two things I forgot to add- check if your employer has a deal with an insurance company that you might benefit from or if you’re a registered professional, some organizations have discounts for their members.
Wow!
I feel like I have written a whole blog post.
Sorry for the too much grammar.
Getting a referral also helps.
Cheers!
